Since its establishment in 1926, this picturesque estate is known for its strong liquoring teas. The estate is located in the Western Ghats of South India at 3200 to 3850 feet above MSL in Hirebyle, Chikmagalur district, Karnataka. The total area of the estate is 376 hectares, of which, the area under tea is 252 hectares, mature coffee plantation is 28 hectares and young coffee plantation is 53 hectares. Goomankhan tea factory has an installed capacity of 8 lac kgs of made tea per annum. Over the past years, the estate has bagged several "The Golden Leaf India" awards in Leaf, Fannings & Dust categories. The estate has also introduced packet teas under its brand name "Shree Ganga" & "Golden Camel" in small poly pouches to cater to the retail consumers in the branded segment.
